Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds
At Little Explorers Academy, we believe proper nutrition is essential to healthy growth, brain development, and learning. Research shows that highly processed and fast foods can negatively impact a child’s ability to focus and learn, while balanced, nutrient-rich meals support both physical well-being and cognitive development. Our Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds program ensures children receive fresh, nourishing meals every day.
All meals are cooked fresh daily using farm-fresh ingredients and thoughtfully prepared to support growing bodies and minds. We source the best dairy, produce, and meats from trusted local farms, dairies, delis, and farmers' markets whenever possible. We proudly serve organic, home-cooked meals and do not offer canned, frozen, or highly processed foods. Menus are intentionally planned with careful consideration for weather, allergies, dietary sensitivities, cultural preferences, and individual needs, ensuring each child is nourished safely and thoughtfully.
What Goes Into the Little Explorers Academy Menu
Our menus are designed to include all five essential food groups, providing balanced nutrition and sustained energy throughout the day.
Protein
Supports growth, muscle development, immune health, and brain function. We include wholesome protein sources such as fish, turkey, chicken, legumes, and other nutrient-rich options.
Dairy
Provides calcium, vitamin D, and protein to support strong bones and teeth. We carefully source quality dairy products and accommodate allergies and dietary needs as required.
Grains
Whole and minimally processed grains supply complex carbohydrates for long-lasting energy and focus. These grains are rich in fiber, B vitamins, and essential minerals.
Fruits & Vegetables
Fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables provide essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytonutrients that support immunity and overall wellness.
Starches
Healthy starches fuel active bodies and developing minds. Nutrient-dense options such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, rice, squash, and other whole foods support physical activity and cognitive development.
Water
Fresh drinking water is available throughout the day to support hydration, focus, and overall physical and cognitive health.
Our nutrition philosophy reflects the same care and intentionality we bring to every part of Little Explorers Academy—supporting healthy bodies, healthy minds, and a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
